An avid citizen journalist and pro-blogger, he is the proprietor of the social media blog, SocialGumbo, and the founder of the New Orleans community blog, HumidCity and it’s Cincinnati counterpart, CincyVoices. He was also the blogger for the Webby Award winning KatrinaMedia.org produced by the Open Society Institute and is a partner in HurricaneArchive.org. Loki is the MC and co-producer of the annual RisingTide blogging conference in New Orleans. Loki helped us develop the social networking strategy we use to syndicate Newsblogs. Loki’s writing specialties are politics (SE Louisiana), investigative journalism, geek culture, food, and new media topics. He also has over five years experience in online community/mailing list management.

Dedra Johnson was the lead blogger on an early and influential Newsblog, The LIVEbrary. An English professor and specialist in writing instruction, she covered the news beat of how middle schools are integrating Internet technologies into the classroom. She has resumed teaching at the college level, but we might be able to persuade her to blog again for the right client.
